We really liked this. Excellent ripe fruit intensity balanced by a good acid backbone. Highly recommended for both connoisseurs and consumers alike. This is a Merlot blend - 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Drink now till 2025.
La Parde is the name of an ancient Bordeaux grape variety. It is also Haut-Bailly's second wine, created in 1967. La Parde has earned a fine reputation over the years and become a model for second wines. Produced from the same plots as Château Haut-Bailly and made in the exact same way, La Parde Haut-Bailly is the result of a rigorous selection. The blend is made of lots marked with freshness and fruit, backboned with a suave, elegant structure. Reflecting the virtues of the grand vin, La Parde can be enjoyed young, although it also has fine ageing potential. The generosity of the Merlots is expressed fully in this La Parde Haut-Bailly 2015. Their softness combined with the elegant Cabernets Francs results in a fruity, well-balanced wine.
