For those who are new to Benjamin Leroux, he has been touted by Jancis Robinson MW as the heir to the 'next Henri Jayer'. Jayer was a legendary Burgundy producer. Benjamin was considered a prodigy winemaker when he became the winemaker and General Manager of the famous Pommard producer Comte Armand at the tender age of 26! In 2007, he launched his own wine.
Leroux's Bourgogne Blanc always impresses us. Lively and juicy Chardonnay, ripe citrus and ripe apples, this is a beautifully balanced wine to be drunk on its own or with friends. At this price, you do not need to think twice opening a great bottle of White Burgundy to share or drink casually!
"You may remember that when I asked Allen Meadows, aka Burghound, on this video who he thought might be a natural heir to the late great Henri Jayer of Burgundy, one of the two people he cited was young Benjamin Leroux of Domaine Comte Armand." Jancis Robinson, Jan 2009
"Leroux’s passion, ambition and sheer talent have already resulted in a number of stunning, beautiful wines, but my sense is that the best is yet to come.” Wine Advocate # 194 May 2011
“I have never heard a more articulate and insightful presentation.” James Halliday on the Leroux 2008s Masterclass with Benjamin Leroux, The Australian, 11th September 2010.
