Clos Rene is a 12 hectares property in the small and prestigious appellation of Pomerol, the region where famous names like Petrus and Le Pin comes from. Only 6,000 cases produced. Small compared to likes of Lafite Rothschild which makes 20,000 cases in a typical vintage.
Sweet spices and black plums on the nose, medium bodied, medium tannins that are quite supply and ripe. An easy going Pomerol that can be enjoyed by most consumers.
Food Pairing: A nice pork chop or roast chicken. A hearty spaghetti Bolognese would be nice too.
