The most popular German Pinot Noir producer in Singapore and certainly one of the most famous from Germany. When it first arrived in Singapore, its 2010 vintage won the Top 10 winning wine in the Business Times-UBS Wine Challenge 2013! Yes, this very basic wine from Huber!
2017 was a great vintage in Germany. This basic Huber Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) has good concentration balanced by good structure and fruitiness. For those who are not used to acidity, we recommend you to drink this wine with food! We highly recommend you to try our best selling German Pinot Noir!
Just to give you an idea what levels Huber can achieve....in 2013, we did a blind tasting featuring Huber Schlossberg GG 2009 (their Grand Cru) vs Armand Rosseau Charmes Chambertin 2009. Out of 30 pax (2 Masters of Wines, sommeliers and private customers), Huber won marginally. The other flight was an aged Huber Alte Reben 2002 versus Negociant Leroy Gevrey Chambertin 2002. Again, Huber edged out the Burgundy!
In 2019, we did another blind tasting featuring Huber Bienenberg GG 2009 vs the same Armand Rosseau Charmes Chambertin 2009. Out of 10 pax, this time we had a split vote...half the group preferred Huber. Interesting thing is, the people who thought they liked Armand Rousseau, the wine turned out to be Huber! Ha!
Food Pairing: We recommend this wine only with food. Roast chicken or roast duck or a hearty spaghetti Bolognaise with mince beef would be nice.

The young and super promising Julian Huber (in black top) took over his father Bernhard Huber in 2014. He is making big waves now...especially with this Chardonnay! His Pinots are much more elegant compared to his father. Check him out as he will be in Germany's hall of fame even at a very young age!
