If you are looking for an easy going and simple Bordeaux, red fruited with supple tannins and good drinkability, this would fit the bill. You cannot go wrong too because this is from the great 2015 vintage and Mauvesin Barton belongs to the 2nd Growth Leoville Barton family! Plus this is not any Bordeaux AOC but a wine from Moulis AOC (an appellation where some famous value wines such as Chasse Spleen comes from).
We enjoyed it on its own without any food. Works in the afternoon too! :)
'The 2015 L'Impression de Mauvesin Barton is soft, pretty and open-knit, all qualities that make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Nuanced floral and savory notes add lift to a core of sweet red berry fruit in this open-knit, caressing wine.' (AG, Vinous)
