Vincent Paris is a rising star from the appellation of Cornas in Northern Rhone where Syrah (Shiraz as they call it in Australia) originates from. Granit refers to the granitic soil and 30 refers to the slope angle of his vineyards. The terroir here are indeed hilly and rocky...some as steep as 60.
Whilst this is his entry level Syrah, this wine is really solid. Do give it some aeration for the fruits to fully express itself. Decant it if you wish. On the nose, you get aromatics of violets, liquorice and herbs. Full bodied, medium+ acid and well balanced alcohol. Good intensity of dark cherry on the palate. Medium finish with fruit complexity.
Food Pairing: Stewed lamb or even braised pork in dark soy sauce.
Variety: Syrah
Country: France
Region: Cornas
Alcohol: 14%
