What an excellent value 10 years old white wine. This Bordeaux Blanc Sec (dry) has about equal % of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. You may be aware that more and more Sauternes producers are making good to very good dry whites - offering you more than just sweet dessert wines that they are famous for.
Medium lemon in colour. Medium intensity (quite restrained actually on the nose which is a good thing!) of ripe lemon and hint of green pear on the nose. On the palate, you are treated to ripe citrus, grapefruit and ripe pear notes. Medium but satisfying finish. Tasted using Zalto universal.
R” de Rieussec is produced by the famous Château Rieussec estate, a Sauternes Premier Cru Classé. It is partly produced from the same vines as the Sauternes.
