If you never had a good Beaujolais, it's probably you haven't tried top producer from Cru Beaujolais. This will change all that.
Sept Vignes is Thivin's traditional wine blended from 7 vineyard plots on Mount Brouilly. Hence, the name Sept (7 in French) Vignes. The soils are dominated by the “blue stone“ (Metadiorite which is signature soil of Cote de Brouilly Cru), stonier for the highest plots and more clayey for those nearer the foot of the hill.
Medium ruby coloured, this is a red fruited (bright and just ripe) and medium bodied wine. Bright acidity. Lovely and supple tannins structure. Medium finish and some spicy complexities. What an attractive wine. If you have not tried a good Cru Beaujolais, drink this! 2018 was also a fine vintage, best since 2015.
This wine also came in TOP 30 Red Wines in Decanter magazine in 2020!
Food Pairing: This wine will add some juiciness to your stewed meat or casserole dishes. Pan fried duck breast or even Chinese roast duck works too.
