If you are looking for an excellent sweet/dessert wine with vibrant acidity and juiciness, you should seek out wines from Barsac more than Sauternes. Barsac region is blessed with limestone soil which ensures good acidity and freshness in their wines.
Along with 2007, 2011 was a great vintage for Sauternes/Barsac. Highly rated by all - Decanter 95, WA 95, WS 95, JS 93. Coming to 14 years of age, this is satisfying and complex now. Drink now till 2035 (depending on how much dried fruits you like in your Sauternes). In case you are new to us, even though Doisy Daene is an open market wine, we buy all our wines (including the above) direct from the chateau. So all these are ex-chateau!
