One of the great Pinot Noirs from Rheinhessen (Germany), this Grosses Gewächs (GG or Grand Cru) is from the Oppenheimer Kreuz Grand Cru vineyard (the Kühling-Gillot parcel is located in the core of the Kreuz Grand Cru). The soil here is characterised by loess and shell limestone.
This remarkable Pinot Noir fascinates with its power and body, but always full of freshness and finesse. Expressive Pinot aromas on the nose, with notes of eucalyptus and mint. On the palate, the Pinot aromas combine perfectly with a finely structured minerality. An intensive, herb-spicy Pinot Noir with unique finesse and elegance. Great! Extremely limited - max. 6 per customer.
Great discovery and most importantly amazing value for a Grand Cru! If you are a Burgundy lover, you should try a bottle to compare it against a village quality Burg or a low priced 1er Cru.
