La Rioja Alta is one of the finest Rioja producers. Loved and adored by both wine connoisseurs and somms.
For those who are not keen to spend so much on the 904, Vina Arana is the go to Rioja Grand Reserva. In our view, it is a big step up from the Ardanza and well worth the premium.
Good aromatics of ripe red fruits such as ripe strawberries and red plums interlaced with some black berries and dark cherries. Good measure of oak (American) from hint of coconut and cedar. Ripe and supple tannins, good freshness and balance leading to to a complex and medium + finish. Excellent potential. Drink now with food till 2030.
