Yes, you may know that they do not participate in En Primeur anymore but few know that even Pauillac de Latour is released 5 years later after the vintage! Free delivery!
Medium ruby in colour. Attractive and complex black fruits, herbal and herbaceous nose. Hint of sweet spices. Medium+ bodied, blackberries and clear blackcurrants on the palate, smooth and fine grained tannins. Very well measured use of oak. Undoubtedly classic Pauillac in style. Buy this if you wanna know how a classic Pauillac taste like. Highly commendable given this is just a generic Pauillac. This shows the excellent winemaking skills of Chateau Latour! Yes, it is made by the same team. Medium plus finish of black currant fruits. Highly recommended.
Well received by wine critics too: (look at what Jancis Robinson wrote below!)
'Château Latour's 2014 Pauillac is delicate, refined and super-polished, with brilliant fruit, expressive aromatics and lifted aromatics. This is an especially strong showing for the château's third wine. Rose petal and savory herb notes shade into the expressive, gracious finish. The Pauillac will drink well to age 15 or 20. Drink between 2019-2029.' Antonio Galloni, Vinous 91 pts.
'51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot. 26% of production. Very dark crimson. Light and fleshy on the nose. With a hint of excellent oak (sample from old oak). Round and floral. Very forward. A real charmer. Fine tannins and light acidity. Lingers in the mouth even though it’s not that powerful. Pretty snazzy. Drink between 2018-2025.' Jancis Robinson MW 16.5/20
