Medium ruby with hint of garnet on the rim. Lovely aromatics of ripe red fruits and dark cherries. Hint earthiness in a good way. Excellent fruit intensity on the palate, ripe fruits follow through from the nose, some tertiary notes on the palate. Medium bodied and well integrated oak usage. Overall a great package that is enjoyable on its own or with any Chinese or Asian cuisine.
For those who are new to Weininger, they are one of the top Pinot Noir producers from Austria. About 10 years ago, the late NK Yong, the most famous wine connoisseur in Singapore organised a blind tasting of Austrian Pinot Noir against the very best of Burgundy including DRC....guess what, the favourite (most highly voted) wine was a wine by Wieninger. It's Grand Select!
